Meet Alex from Therapia, a Clinical Complementary Therapist based in Kent who specialises in massage therapy & reflexology for pregnancy, lymphoedema, oncology, stress & relaxation. I enjoyed spending a day with Alex late last year as we created her personal branding images.
Here’s a little about her brand story.
Alex’s Brand Story
With many of her clients suffering from long-term chronic & terminal illnesses, Alex wanted to bring more of her friendly & relaxed personality into the images she uses online. When you’re suffering from a terminal illness many of the treatments you undergo are unpleasant. The complementary therapies that Alex offers provide an enjoyable & relaxing respite for her clients.
Her whole ethos is based on the comfort of her client. From the decor of her treatment room – which is more like a bedroom than a clinic – to her own appearance – jeans & a jumper rather than the usual tunic favoured by many clinical therapists. She feels this makes her more approachable & helps her build a trusting relationship with her clients. Many of them tell her they like this because coming to see her doesn’t feel like treatment; it feels like they are coming to see a friend.
As a small business owner, Alex is fully aware that many of her clients buy into her as much as her business so she wanted to show a little about who she is as a person, alongside Alex the therapist. Snuggled up on the sofa with a book or her crafts says as much about her as her healing hands!
She doesn’t just treat people with chronic illnesses, Alex also offers relaxing massages, Indian head massages & reflexology. I often think at the end of a day shooting I could do with a massage!
